Email is THE Most Important Marketing Tool for a Small Business
Email marketing should be the number one strategy in your small business to get more sales. It's my favourite marketing tool and the one I am most passionate about helping you to instigate. It's my super power!
So what do I mean by email marketing? I mean sending out a regular business newsletter to your customers and mailing list (future customers!). Still unsure? Let's get clear...
What is a business newsletter?
A business newsletter is simply a regular email newsletter sent to your existing customers and a wider audience of potential customers who have requested that you keep in touch with them. It is permission marketing (someone asked you to keep them informed) which is the best kind of marketing there is!
I believe every single business should be sending regular email newsletters to a database of contacts or customers to keep in touch, share interesting stories, give them great value, convey special offers and to encourage and invite repeat custom. Your business newsletter forms the basis of your all your email marketing campaigns.
Why is a newsletter important for a small business?
Getting someone to be your customer the first time is tough and can be expensive. Getting the same person to purchase again from you is considerably less difficult and less expensive, but only if you manage the relationship effectively. Maintaining regular contact with your customers is the ideal way to cultivate your relationship by providing value as well as asking for sales. Email campaigns are powerful ways for a small business to grow a large and loyal audience.
What should be included in a business newsletter?
Your newsletter can and should include a variety of rich content such as company news, valuable information, educational content, product news, fun stuff and of course special offers.
Creating a solid content strategy will be an integral part of a successful email marketing campaign. Your business newsletters should be something that your audience looks forward to because they are packed with so much interesting and valuable content!
Of course, they are also a tool to generate sales for your business too, but it's important that you offer a balance of content that isn't just sales or your audience will quickly tire and unsubscribe.
How do I make a newsletter for my small business?
