Affordable SEO for Small Business

On-Page SEO Package for Small Businesses

SEO - What is it?

Search Engine Optimization. A fancy phrase that is thrown around a lot in marketing circles, but what does it really mean?

It means being found on search engines for people looking for what you offer. It’s the holy grail of marketing - people (customers!) looking to buy things (your products or services!) and finding YOU in their search results. Ba-da bing!

When someone searches for something on the internet it usually means they are looking for information about something that they are interested in either to buy right now or soon. That means the intention is ultimately to make a purchase. Ding ding!

That’s why understanding what your customers might be searching for and providing content on your website that includes these search terms is such a powerful way to ensure your customers land on your website.

The difficulty with SEO is that it falls somewhere between a science and an art to master and many businesses with deep pockets can throw a lot of money at this in order to dominate search engine results.

The good news is that by targeting slightly different and less popular/expensive keywords you can actually dominate the search engine rankings in your niche. Don’t panic - this is what we do for you!

On-Page SEO - What’s that mean then?

On-Page SEO means optimizing the content that is on your website or creating content for your website.

There are other types of SEO - such as Off-Page SEO which includes building back-links to your website. Whilst this can and is useful, practices for this vary somewhat and can include some unethical ideas about getting any Tom, Dick or Dietrich to link to your website, which is not ideal for many reasons. Mostly because you cannot control the quality of people linking to you in this way and search engines often simply penalise websites that just used farmed links in this way. So we stay away from it!

On-Page SEO is our jam and it’s all about Optimized Content...

Optimized Content - Why you need it

Optimized content is helpful and informative content on your website that naturally includes these niche keywords and signals to search engines (mainly Google) that your website is the most important piece of content on the internet relating to the search term.

This content can be a page or a blog post depending on the most appropriate format and may include a combination of text, images or video (all three being the best option of all).

The method of producing optimized content is to create a content brief based on keyword research. If we were the kind of people to have fancy proprietary names for processes, we might call this the “User Intent Content Framework™️”.

User Intent Content Framework

A) See what is being 'shown' by Google (in GSC) but not necessarily ranking high. This offers an idea of what Google *thinks the content is about.

B) Use the relevant keywords to optimise on-page content for those as well - this may often just be adding one or two new terms in, other times actually adding whole sections with a subheading to make the content more authoritative.

C) Take relevant user intent keywords that aren’t covered in existing content to create a new piece, thereby creating a cluster around a topic which Google loves.

There are 3 user intents: informational, transactional and locational (Brand or location).

Small Business SEO Plan

This monthly SEO plan has been designed with your small business in mind to provide steady, consistent and targeted results at a budget and pace that an owner-managed business can afford and maintain.

What’s included?

1. Google Search Console Setup

Google Search Console is used to understand the way that Google ‘sees’ your site and content. For every indexed URL, there will be ‘impressions’ and ‘clicks’ as well as other data, and understanding this will help with organic traffic growth strategy.

We’ll set this up for you and add a piece of code to your site that connects it all up.

2. Keyword Research

By analysing the data within GSC and my preferred SEO tool, we’ll be able to fill the gaps in existing content and pinpoint other opportunities for new content, based upon your ideal customer / client needs.

3. Monthly Recommendations

Identify two posts that can be further optimised and update existing content on your website.

Suggest one new article that targets the ideal customer / client journey and create a full content brief for this

4. Content Brief

A content brief is produced based on our User Intent Content Framework™️ (remember that?) and will include a primary keyword for the target article topic along with additional keywords to target, the user intent and a suggested word count.

There will be at least one suggested title, a suggested URL/slug, main headings (H2), sub headings (H3), questions to answer, recommended graphics, meta description outline and suggested internal and external links based upon KW research.

This is what a naked content brief looks like 👉

Simplified Content Brief Template

Does this all sound and look like Russian? Don’t sweat it… putting all this together is what we do next for you...

5. Produce New Content

Based on the content brief we’ll discuss the outline for the new page or article with you and get some notes and background information in order to produce draft content for your approval.

Then we’ll publish on your website and tell google to go and index it so that it can appear in search results as quickly as possible.

We’ll also nudge you to start sharing the content across your social media platforms too so that you can get as many eyes on your fancy optimized content as possible.

What’s the Cost?

£495 per month (ex VAT).

Consistency is so important when it comes to SEO so we encourage you to commit to a minimum of six months.

NB. It can take up to 3 months for an optimised post to show improvements and up to 6 months for new content to actually start getting Google love!
